Medicaid Pharmacy Clinical Drug Review Program
The Clinical Drug Review Program (CDRP) is a prior authorization program designed to ensure specific medications are used in a medically appropriate manner.
Under the CDRP certain drugs require prior authorization because there may be safety issues, public health concerns, the potential for fraud and abuse or the potential for significant overuse and misuse.
Your doctor must obtain prior authorization before prescribing drugs in this program. The drugs currently included in the CDRP are:
- becaplermin gel (Regranex®)
- emtricitabine/tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (Truvada®)
- fentanyl mucosal agents
- lidocaine patch (Lidoderm®)
- oxazolidinone antibiotics (Sivextro®, Zyvox®)
- palivizumab (Synagis®)
- sodium oxybate (Xyrem®)
- somatropin (Serostim®)
