Medicaid Pharmacy Clinical Drug Review Program
The Clinical Drug Review Program (CDRP) is a prior authorization program designed to ensure specific medications are used in a medically appropriate manner.
Under the CDRP certain drug classes require prior authorization because there may be safety issues, public health concerns, the potential for fraud and abuse or the potential for significant overuse and misuse.
Your doctor must obtain prior authorization before prescribing drugs in this program. The drug classes currently included in the CDRP are:
- Anabolic Steroids
- CNS Stimulants
- Growth Hormones
- Phosphodiesterase type-5 (PDE-5) Inhibitors for PAH
- Topical Immunomodulators
